  23.    Common features of the 14.4EX, SatisFAXtion Modem/400 and 400e: 
  24.    -V.32bis/V.32 speeds of 14.4K, 12K, 9.6K, 7.2K and 4.8Kbps. 
  25.    -V.42bis, V.42 and MNP 5 data compression and error control. 
  26.    -Automatic speed optimization.  The modem monitors line 
  27.     noise and falls back and/or forward to insure the maximum 
  28.     throughput.  These speed changes happen in less than 200ms! 
  29.    -Adaptive handshaking.  The 14.4EX samples the phone line 
  30.     BEFORE the connection is made to maximize throughput. 
  31.    -Quick connection option.  The modem can be configured to 
  32.     connect with other Intel modems in as little as six 
  33.     seconds (vs the normal 12-16 seconds).  Even if you're 
  34.     connecting to a non-Intel modem, the connection time can be 
  35.     cut to eight seconds.  (NOTE: noisy phone lines will affect 
  36.     the performance of this option). 
  37.    -Automatic leased line restoration.  In the event of carrier 
  38.     loss on a leased line, the modem can be setup to automatically  
  39.     attempt to re-establish the connection. 
  40.    -Small form factor.  Our external high speed modems are 
  41.     packaged in the same metal case as our 2400bps modem, 
  42.     reducing space requirements. 
  43.    -Free communications software from Crosstalk.  Each modem 
  44.     comes with a free copy of "Communicator by Crosstalk".
